Perhaps you purchased your home when you first married and had no kids? Fast forward 5 or 10 years, and now you may have three kids, and the house, which was a perfect size 5 or 10 years ago, may now be far too small to accommodate your growing family. 

3. You need to downsize 

Just as people consider buying a bigger home as their family grows, when grown children start leaving home, many people consider downsizing their home, as there may be too much unused space when kids begin to leave the house. 

4. You are financially stable and ready to upgrade 

As people grow in their financial stability and security, they consider upgrading their homes, as their finances and affordability allow it. Therefore, if you have moved ahead financially, you may want to consider enjoying that increase and upgrading your home. 

5. Your home has become a burden 

As much as owning a home can be a blessing, it does take more to maintain and look after it. For this reason, some people may feel burdened by their house and look to sell and return to renting or even a different home requiring less maintenance and upkeep.
